If The Shoe Fits (ITSF) Membership Guidelines

Purpose: To provide a vehicle for lesbian women and gay men to gather and share common interests in a safe social environment.

Principles:
  1. Anonymity is the key to our organization allowing us to create a safe, respectful environment, therefore:
      a. ITSF members choose to remain anonymous. It is not our purpose to bring the members of ITSF into the public.
      b. As individuals we respect and uphold each others right to privacy.
      c. ITSF as a group will not endorse or affiliate with any political or religious groups.

  2. ITSF may reach out to other gay and lesbian individuals/organizations to encourage participation through an anonymous source (i.e. PO Box, email, phone hot line).
      a. The ITSF name will not be used in any outreach attempts with the exception of our associations with other gay and lesbian organizations and gay friendly organizations.

  3. ITSF will be self-supporting by its members contributions.

Procedures:
  1. There will be a monthly Steering Committee Meeting. The date will be published in the newsletter. Any member of ITSF is welcome to attend.
  2. The function of the Steering Committee is to manage and uphold the Purpose and Principles of ITSF and to provide management for the operations of the organization.
  3. The ITSF mailing list will never be given to or shared with any individual or group. The mailing list is only for the purpose of distributing the newsletter or special mailings for the organization. Names, addresses and phone numbers are confidential information and are given to no one.
  4. All new members of ITSF will receive a copy of the Membership Guidelines upon subscribing to the ITSF Newsletter.
  5. The ITSF Membership guidelines will be reviewed annually or on an as needed/requested basis.
